Sweeny Todd style razor
I saw a add for this razor online, and I'm wondering if it's worth any money at all;
Specs;
BIG, heavy duty, all metal straight Razor, High Quality
Similar to one used in movie
All Metal cast aluminum handles with fine detailing on both sides
Blade: 1045 Surgical Stainless Steel
Closed Length:7-3/8"
Open length:11-1/2"
Crap or worth the asking price of about 25 €?

Unlike Zeepk, I have seen this one mentioned too much in the forum. Not sure that it would be good. Hone it and give it a try.
Al raz.

I've never tried it, but I would spend 25 anythings on it.

After thinking a while I think it's more like 30€, but anyways...
What I'm mostly worried about is the surgical steel, I have no clue over what kind of edge you can get on that...
And 30€ for a new razor seems a bit cheap to me...

The guys with more knowledge of metallurgy hopefully can pipe in here but I understand that there is no such thing as "surgical steel"; I believe it's a meaningless descriptor as is unfortunately "All Natural" these days when used to describe food products.

From what I've understood surgical steels are the alloys of steel that are used in surgical pins etc. It's very good for piercing for example since it isn't what they call "bio-reactive"

Can't see how you could possibly hone the heel on that thing.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
