    Default Information request

I came across this razor in an antique store the other day and could not resist buying it. Can anyone give me any information on this type razor. I have never seen one like it. It is stamped with Cattaraugus Cultery, Little Valley, NY and I found out information on the company but I was wondering about the ornate design. Any help would be appreciated.

I hope I got the image uploaded....

    Thanks!

Hmmmmmm Yeah you scored big time....
One Catty's are fantastic shavers, two those scales are very highly sought after by those other razor collectors out there (the non-shavers)

    NICE ONE!!!!!

Oh yeah BTW newbies are not allowed to score like that, it is against SRP rules

Paragraph 24 subsection 113 the states that said razor must be immediately sent to the first member to answer your first post....

    Default kewl

Glad to know that my impulse was not a total wash. Any idea what the value would be or the age?

What are the scales made of? It looks to be in great shape. A few rough areas on the blade but no other issues.

Soap and water to clean it? Estimated cost of restoration?

So many questions - I do love the antiques!

    Thanks again,

    SL

The value is relative but I would guess more than you paid for it
We really try not to discuss actual costs/values on the forum...

As to restore, that looks pretty straight foreword, there are plenty of us that do razor restoration located in the classifieds...
My prices are actually listed on my website in the link below...

And I would guess that yes they are aluminum scales...
