    Cool Custom Mastro LIVI Razor!?!?!

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on ordering an expensive custom Livi razor! I have been very pleased with the process of deciding exactly what I want the Maestro to make for me. Don has been great in helping me choose which "high end" razor I should go with, and I am very appreciative!

I want to share with everyone what I have decided to go with, so please feel free to give any input on my choice of wood for the scales, as well as my choice of blade! I would love to hear from anyone who has a similar razor...

My personal favorite blade that Livi makes is the Blue Tonge "Snake" blade in Damascus steel. It is simply stunning and appears that it will fit in the hand perfectly! Ironically, my favorite wooden scales are the "Snakewood" scales the Maestro makes--the grain is very beautiful! I will be anxiously awaiting my new razor's arrival!

I hope everyone has a great week, and thanks for any responses and information!

Which ever one you decide on I'm sure you will be very pleased with it. I have several.

I have a Livi/Takeda Damascus with a snakewood handle. The snakewood looks absolutely great, IMO. I think you will love the razor. Don wouldn't steer you wrong.

    Cool SNAKE

I would love to hear from anyone that also has one of the Mastro's Blue Tonge "Snake" razors! It is a very unique 8/8 blade, and I am excited to see how it feels. I learned to shave with a 5/8 Dovo, so this will be a bigger, heavier blade I assume...

    Thanks, Friends!

I have the 7/8 Livi Blue Tonge Damascus Snake in Mammoth Scales. To the eye of this beholder it is beautiful beyond words. It feels absolutely perfect in the hand and it shaves like a dream. The chance of you being disappointed is slim indeed.

One more thing Angeleyes, I copied and pasted the name of my razor from the order confirmation. I just realized it said 7/8. The actual size by my ruler is 9/8. That's a lot of razor, but of course, that's what you're looking for.

    Default Razor size...

I am very excited to receive my razor--who knows how long it will take though! It says that it is 8/8, which is fairly big from what I understand, but what the hell. I will get used to it! I have just been using my 5/8 Dovo, which I love as well. I was going to go with the mammoth ivory scales or maybe stag horn (I have several materials I like), but just decided that the blade was so gorgeous that the grain of the snakewood would compliment it perfectly. Plus it saved me a tiny bit of money--and I stress "a tiny bit."
