Dovo hands down, get it professionally ground before though if you aren't proficient with hones, since they do require some honing before use for optimal shaving results. That said, my Ebony Prima didn't improve that much after a hundred laps on the coticule, but the TPT results did improve, before I was able to drag my thumb along the edge quite easily if I didn't apply any pressure, when I carefully put my thumb agianst it after honing I cut myself before I could start thinking about moving it...

    Hi,
I've not used either, but based on the looks, i'd go with the dovo. The quality of them both is likely to be high, though Thiers' reputation means it may be luck of the draw. My Dovo stainless shaves very well. If you go with the Bergischer, maybe think about losing the rubber from the shank, or water may end up damaging the steel beneath. Nice quandary you have there!

I would take the TI, hands down. The Dovo stainless steel does not feel as good against my skin.

I'm fairly sure that the Dovo is carbon steel, it's just that my only Dovo reference is a stainless blade. I'm confusing thing's again! Like many blades, they cost around the same in £ as they do in $! Mind you, with the state of the £ now it's not even worth getting them sent here from a U.S. source!
