With zero edge frown you think there maybe one lst hone-up left in her Ken? That pic sucks the actual edge is a little shadowed by the bad beval. Im sure its prob junk!

I figured the frown was negligible; to me it looked like an uneven bevel rather than an actual frowning edge and the uneven bevels are about as common on old wedges as horn scales are (pretty much the norm).
I'm glad it looks like you'll be able to bring it back!

Chris your right the bevals awfull and so is the pic! In hand it dont look as bad but it is very uneaven the other side has alot LESS wear. Im going to clean it up with hand sanding ...polish the hell out of it with the buffer take it to the Nortons and if nothing els I will put it in the case. Old 1800's aint my thing but for 5$ I figured it could be put in display if nothing els.

For $5.00 you can lose for trying. I'd say lay on about four layers of tape on the spine and try to set a bevel on your 200. The tape will probably wear so replace the worn layer it until you get up to 4000. It should do okay then. If you want to put the smile back in it, use a sweeping stroke on the stones.

Ken you answerd my next question about the tape I have never delt with a wedge this big Im greatfull for any advice given. So do you sugest taking all the tape off at the 4000?

A little info about a Karl Muller born in Germany in 1820 and some of his work:
Brooklyn Museum: Karl L. H. Mueller
I know it says Mueller, but his work was inscribed with "K. Muller" as on the razor

I apologise, but I have not found anywhere that Karl L. H. Mueller did razors.
Is it possible to read somewhere about it?

I found a reference with this Karl Mueller b. 1820 d. 1889 attached to stuttgart Germany. I too have not found that this particular fellow had anything to do with running a knife shop of any kind.

Well I apreciate the help and intrest from you guys! I couldnt come up with squat.
