This is my first post, hope I can learn all there is to learn and soon be enjoying my shave. I told my grandfather I was looking to get into straight razor shaving, with a glow about him he said, "I have my dads straight razor, you want it." Of course I replied with an enthusiastic, yes !!! It has to be at least 80 years old as my grandfather is in his late 60's.

The case says J.S. Torre....then the lettering is missing. Los Angeles Ca. Tungsten Alloy, Registered Trademark.

There is still an edge on the blade but is in desperate need of honing, I tried to lathering up and testing the blade on my whiskers but it took to much effort and from my lurking here it seems it should be rather effortless with a proper honed/stropped blade.

Next stop...honing( if you all think it is still a viable shaving instrument).... soap... strop.... and I think a new brush. Already have the Clubman Pinaud after shave.I am very excited.
