    Yeah, I am starting to wonder if I shouldn't just send it out instead, to make sure it's done properly. I certainly think that I want it to be taped, as the spine seems to be ground to an angle, which I think will wear pretty quickly on a hone, and I like that shape. If the spine was round, I might not bother with the tape, as I think the hone wear actually adds to the character of a blade in most cases.

    Nice blade! Is that Friodur (INOX)? I deliberately wanted an INOX blade, which is why I stumped for the one I linked.

    I reckon that someone came across a stash of ground razors (seconds) without scales, which they have rescaled in whatever scales they had to hand, which would explain the scales being non-henckels.

    No, but I have a SS Friodur (with ugly scales) as well. 7/8.
