Antique Store Finds - Any Worth Picking Up?
While out at some local antique stores searching for DE, SE, and other shave related items (honest, I wasn't planning on checking out the straights!!) I came across some straights that, to my untrained eye, seemed worthy of getting a few pics and asking the right people.
Without further ado:
This Wade & Butcher is listed for $12...
This Wade & Butcher was listed as $25. This is the one out of them all that I really like the most.

The Old English Razor - listed as $20:
On the one side of the tang it's marked "BENGALL, on the other side it's marked: Concaved by Friedmann & Lauterjung

I didn't see anything that didn't look like it would clean up and shave nicely. Condition of the scales (handles) is another issue. I would probably go for the Wade & Butchers and maybe a couple of hollow grinds. See if they will give you a package deal. Moe guys will chime in with their observations but you certainly will have some decent razors to start.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I also like the same W & B you like. I have one and it is a great shaver. You won't go wrong with it. Me , being the PIG that I am, would try to get a package deal as referred to above.

nice, they all seem like good finds, go w&b razors since you may sell them faster at the s r p. or go with what most of the pros from here tell you. it's no brainer to follow the advisre from the pros.

Thanks guys for the info. I thought the Wade & Butcher was decent, but being a novice I wanted some assurance and advice.

I like them all (of course), but in particular I really like the W&B with the slight smile + the barber's notch in pictures 5&6. That's the nugget"!
