    Default Tennis #70 appears unused?So

So I found a Tennis Solingen # 70, at an antique store. It appears to be unused, as far as I can see with a30x glass. The blade has Tennis Solingen embossed , the tang says 70 followed by 2 crossed tennis raquets, and TENNIS Solingen, The scales are white /cream with 3 pins and the words TENNIS underlined with FUR ZARTE HAUTE. The blade seems sharp. I stropped with news paper, only available strop. It shaved very well. Anyone know about this razor?

    Mark.

Will provide pic as I can.

Does it say Fritz Bracht on the shank? I saw some reviews on B&B and they were excellent.

Nope. Anyone know when the tennis line was made and by who? I assume that there were many modles. I have seen a #80 in the classifieds.

Mark, you old rascal. Dovo took over Tennis razors in 1952, I believe. You were 1 yr old. It is hard to find anything about Tennis razors before 1952, but keep looking.

really great razors. They are kind of related to the early Dovo's which were far better than the ones they make now. Any tennis or fritz bracht will be an outstanding shaver.

I have one somewhere. Bought it on eBay, not the quality that I'd expect in a German blade. Scales were not outstanding, and after I wasn't impressed with its ability to become shave ready in a reasonable amount of time I greased her up and put her in the 'later' box.
