Rolls Razor Question
Ok so its a str8 with training wheels. But I like it. Anyway.
So I get a great shave, very little if any whisker noise. The problem is the chin. It always pulls the chin, no cuts or nicks, but pulls.
I have strapped and honed the edge as well as polished it with Chrom OX. Still can't stop the pull.
Any thoughts.

Thanked: 3Howdee singlewedge!!
I don't have any answers for you - since I have been getting my info from you!
Have you had any new developments on this since the post?? I could use the tips too.
Also, the beeswax thing you mention elsewhere - why do say that (where'd ya get the notion?) and what do you mean 'beeswax like you put on shoes'. We have a thing I like to refer to as 'shoepolish' - so I don't know what yer on about!! Do you have a brand name I could look at it then on the internet.

I use beeswax from the walking company. It is a shoe store here in the states. Never used Snoseal, though they say they are beeswax formulation.
I got the idea cause my strop was dry and I am poor so I use what I have on hand. You could use Fromms or saddle soap. Remember that a strop is leather, so I treated it as such.
Crom Ox. Take the stop side off of the Rolls. Take a piece of Newspaper and spinkle on some OX. Pull it tight and snug it back into the rolls. Strop. That's it.

Thanked: 3Excellent tips guy - thnx!!! I especially like the idea of using a larger sheet of paper to put the Crox on and then 'snugging' it back in the unit. Great plan - you have a sheet right in place that won't move around on you. I was contemplating doing this but I envisioned cutting a piece of paper to fit. That would not have worked I imagine! The paper would get pulled all over the place when stropping. I wouldn't have thought of using a big piece - DOH - thnx SW!!!!
ps - I took yer other advice - kicked out the family and put on a good movie! I only honed it for 20 minutes though and stropped for 10 - but it worked! Then I had my 1st Rolls Shave - felt pretty good. A few chunky spots here and there but that was more from being careful first time around. I really enjoyed the whole process and look forward to the next shave!! I think the blade is in good enough shape to just strop next time and slice away!!
I'm still looking in to this conditioner issue - I am hard to convince regarding what to put on it. I shall come to terms with it soon though!
