Value of vintage straight razor cases
So I stopped at the flea market today, and there was an ex-collector there. He had sold his razors long ago, but had a box full of vintage straight razor cases in various condition... Solingen, Torrey, etc. Really cheap.
He said he had even more of them at home.
Is there enough of a market for these to pick them up and make them available to those who may need them?Last edited by mddittman; 02-07-2009 at 05:13 PM.

If they aren't beaten to death I would think there would be. I would like to find a real good Torrey deluxe case. The oval red one.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I think there'd be a market. There are guys on ebay listing them for silly money, but i have no idea if they ever make a sale. Now this is a longshot, but he doesn't have any depews boxes does he? Mines battered!

I don't know what all he had... I was looking for a Geneva box specifically, he said he'd probably have some at home. I'm going back in tomorrow and hopefully he'll bring in the others.
I'm sure some are worthless, some are worth a little, and some are worth a lot.
If there's a half decent market for them I may make him an offer on the whole lot and set up a page on my website with pictures and info.

He didn't say; he said he had over 140 razors at one time and sold them all off over the last couple years because it was a lot of maintenance to keep them in good shape...
Maybe these boxes originally came with the razors and he found better specimens later... or maybe many years ago he came across someone at a flea market who sold him a bunch of them really cheap!
