    Default Razors from the Source

---------------- Now playing: Kings Of Convenience - The Weight Of My Words via FoxyTunesI have a friend who's studying abroad in France...and I've placed an order with her for a Thiers-Issard razor (as she's not far).

How much of the price varies based on your location? That is, if she bought it there, versus me buying it from America, would it cost significantly less?

What about any razors from London, same question; why not for each location...cheaper? and by how much?

I think you're going to be disappointed. You get them cheaper in the States on the whole. You get everything cheaper in the States on the whole! Razors cost a hell of a lot here in England, & as far as i've heard, they're not much different on the continent. I wish you luck though!

    Very little.

I doubt that very much. Which model did you ask for?

Well, the answer is: "it depends". Awhile ago I asked myself the same question and this is what I found out for the the Thiers Issard Le Dandy. If you buy from Classic Shaving, you pay $140 to 160 for the 4/8 razor ($160 if honed):

    Thiers-Issard Straight Razors

    Thiers-Issard Straight Razors

I found the 5/8 razor listed for around E 51 to 87 (~$66 to 114) . I can try to find the links for you. I did not buy the razor online and do not know if the price includes taxes (VAT) but often times they do. What this means is that you can probably get the razor close to 20% off that price. Even assuming that they do not include VAT, I do not see a way that you would spend $25 in shipping, but again, I do not even know if they would ship overseas. I see myself buying more products from Europe these days and I do not remember paying too much more than $10 for shipping a razor. I would imagine that the analysis would be different for other razors and definitely different if you buy them there, as you would not get away with not paying the taxes.

    Al raz.
