Thanked: 488ROCKwell brand Solingen Germany
Does anybody know this brand?? It is German made marked Solingen. I know a lot of small companies make razors there and put who knows what name on them. It's a large blade at 7/8th.

Thanked: 2209I have a faded recollection that it is a poor brand.
But... the real test is will it develop a comfortable shaving edge and keep that edge. We have all been surprised by the Wapi razors and the Double Arrow razors. So...try to hone it up and shave with it, then let us know.

Thanked: 488Ok now I'm lost. I need some clarification as well on this brands history and what makes it a fake. The fellow who bought it never used it and purchased it directly from Germany. Does that have any bearing on being fake??? I appreciate it:-)
Phil
PS It's on the way and should be here Saturday or Monday so as soon as I go over it I'll post how it works. Oh yes I paid $40 for it including shipping. The seller is a friend and wouldn't sell me anything he knew to be a fake so ?????????Last edited by Gunner777; 02-12-2009 at 01:39 AM.

I've heard of many pakistani-forged blades (poor quality) are shipped to germany where they attach the scales to them, and then through a legal loophole are then allowed to print Solingen on the blade.
It could then be shipped and sold anywhere.
Not saying this is one of them, but, it is a possibility. If it is, your friend may have gotten ripped off.

Thanked: 488Well I guess I'll find out when it gets here:-) I do know my knives and have seen a bunch of Pakistani knives so possibly I'll recognize the method of making the blade. Devious little suckers huh!
Oh well if it is fake then live and learn
Thanks!
