Thread: 7 day set of razors

Im looking at a seven day set of razors. How cmmon are they and are they practical or just a novalty. The ones I'm looking at are the brand I like (Wostenholm)and all seven days are there.If nothing else they will add a nice look to my collection.

On the question of practical, look at it this way. All you need is one razor. Maybe a backup is nice, in case you damage one or need to send it out to hone (or don't always have a chance to hone a blade right away). If you have more razors, your trips to the hone will be less frequent, but you will have more razors to hone.

I like having more than one razor simply because different razors feel different when shaving, and there are so many nice ones. For these same reasons, I would not get a seven day set of seven identical razors.

Obviously they are not as common as sinlge razors and a lot of these sets end up broken up or just broken or lost. If you find a good set at a decent price snatch them up. They were usually gift sets for the wealthy.

If they are in good condition and aren't outrageously priced I would say go ahead and get them They are not extremely rare but they are something worth picking up when you come across them. I have a post up under show and tell where I just came across a really nice set of Boker's that I couldn't pass up for the price.

If you are strictly a shaver I don't know. If you collect razors then why not ? It is sort of boring to have 7 identical razors but if your a collector/shaver a 7 day set is nice to have. I have a set of 4 and a set of 7. I enjoy having them.

If you hone your own it will give you a nice project to play with. If you decide against it post where they may be had and one of the forum members may want to pick them up.

Why not make your own 7 day set? Find 7 Pumas, or whatever, and make a box for them.

You could even call it the "Cat House".

Agree that those sets are rare, agree that unless you are collecting for the sake of collecting, why.

I found a great 7 day set of Torreys that is missing a day, so a six day set, but still it is in good shape. I just do not need 6 identical razors.
