    Default opinions on col. ichabod conk str8 razors?

    hey the only razor i have currnetly is a black handled 5/8ths?3/4 hollow (i think) colonel ichabod conk razor made in solingen germany. anybody have one of these guys? opinions? personally i really like mine.

    Are not they made by Dovo? Entry level Dovo models are excellent beginner's choice, IMO.

    no idea. mine doesnt say dovo anywhere on it but it has an engraving on the blade that looks simalar to dovos. mine just says solingen on the blade

    I have one, it was in the first set that I purchased. Before getting a proper hone on it, she cut real rough. I have since put a good edge on it, and it is in my rotation. I like mine, I only wish it was 6/8 or bigger.

    did it take alot of honing to correct the edge?, i did 20x laps on my 12k hone first time round and it improved it forsure

    I just got one last week and have shaved twice with it. It needed only a few laps on my swaty and it was ready to go. It is much smoother and more comfortable than my other razor which is a vintage HMC cutlery. The blade seems to be a little heavier with the Col Conk. I am glad you started this thread because I had the same questions. I also thought it was made by Dovo, thought I had read that somewhere.

    BTW, I got mine at a great price from an Ebay store in Solingen. It was unused. If anyone is interested I can pass it on.
