Default Is this the same blade as other Dovo SS?

I was just looking on shavemac's website and came accross this beauty.

    Shavemac

Would the blade be the same as the SS 41 that people are raving about?

From the picture I think I can see the number 41 on the tang but the blade looks different than other Dovo razors.

At that price I think it is quite a steal since you can pick your own scales too.

I really like the look of the blue scales. For $117 it's a pretty good deal I think.

I don't have any SS razors but I'd like to try one.

    go to this page

    Shavemac

    and pick straight razor

You should be able to see all the different scales available too.

If not then just go on shavemac.com and click on shop and then custom sets.

Out of the razors i see there, only the MOP has 41 stamped on it. It has an identical blade to my all stainless, which is also stamped 41. The blade on the customisable one looks different, so i'd assume it's not a 41. Have you tried emailing them?

It does look different but it's still says 41 on it. I've heard that the etching on the blade can differ depending on the specific order from each retailer. I just emailed them today but still haven't heard from them. They're probably closed by now so it's likely going to have to wait until tomorrow.

Do you have one of those SS dovo?

I've got the all stainless, with 41 stamped on it. It was my first blade & is pretty good. Been in a drawer for a while now though & needs honing as my skills with the stones have improved considerably since then!

I spoke with Dovo a while back. ALL of the 5/8 stainless blades come out of the same mold. the #41s, and the Micarta etched blades.

My #41 is a very, very sweet shaver!

But, I also had to send three other #41's back because they were all warped! (that's why I had been in touch with them)

The one I ended up getting was from EBay, and the seller had purchased it back in 2001, before Dovo went into mass production, low-quality control as has been seen as of late in my opinion. I came across an article that said productuion was up like 4times what it used to be, they just crank the stuff out nowadays.
