    Question French Straight question

    Hello all,
    out of all the Straight razors i have i have one that is possibly French in origin.
    I won it on Ebay and it has 42 Garantil Paris1-8 520 in it.
    A very scruffy unkept Razor but i am sure i can get it back to its former glory.
    Can any one help me on infomation on its possible history.

    Am i right in saying with the word 'Garantil' their is a Turkish influence?? could not find anything in Google.
