hi all ive been using a straight razor i think for going on 3yrs, and up until a few weeks ago everythings been fine, one of my children has had a hold of the plastic tube i keep the razor in and it was wet when i put my razor in, and now my beloved razor has started to rust is there any way of cleaning this up or is it a matter of damage limitation?

try polishing it with Mass or autosovil this should clear Light rust off the blade without much of a problem. Then lightly oil the blade .Olive oil is fine especially if you use the razor a lot.Hope this helps.Paul

Thanked: 4942The Maas is a good idea. If it doesn't get it all, there are more aggressive ways to polish it back up, but depending on where the stains or rust is, you might loose some etching if any.

In the US, you can get MAAS at Walgreens. I'm sure it's available to other chains as well.

is the maas a smooth cream or is it gritty? as we have a polish for stainless steel we use on the hob in the kitchen which is just a cream, ive got rid of the rust using tin foil but cans till see the marks. would love to get rid of these as well but its not the end of the world.
