Thread: More razor pics

Here are some more pics for you all to enjoy . This one is a 5/8 'Ophir Gem" No.86 made in Germany , and sold by H. Geo. Henry , Columbia PA. Here is a 5/8 F.W. Engels "FWE Special" with a nice blued tang . This is a 5/8 Diamondine 1007 made in Germany , and sold by Von Cleef & co. , New York . Last but not least is my Tosuke and my Mariuchi Nakayama Asagi hone , both of which I got from OLD_SCHOOL .

Wow! Seeing those razors is a fine way to start Sunday. Is it the lighting or are those first blades fully gold plated? Thank you for sharing. The ornate bolsters are very eye-catching.

Thanks Croaker . No , the blades aren't gold plated . The new light bulbs in the bathroom are to blame . I need to get some proper lighting for my pics .

FWE is one of my favorite brands. I don't have the Japanese style straight or the highly regarded Nakayama ...... yet.

I can tell you 1 thing. When properly honed these razors will take a wicked sharp edge. Very nice collection.

Don't worry about better lighting. The gold plating makes them look more expensive.
