Old Bismarks
I have an old Bismark that has odd markings on it. If anyone has any information about it I would appreciate it.
From what I know Bismark was bought by Dovo and Dovo continues to put out razors under the Bismark name.
Prior to that there was Bismark Razor Works or some thing along those lines.
The Razor I have is marked 'Bismark Swedish Steel' on the front of the tang.
It is etched 'Bismark Fine Tungsten Steel Razor' on the front of the blade.
And is marked 'All Sweden' on the back of the tang.
It is in plastic-style scales.
Does anyone have any information about this style of Bismark?
I can post an image after I get home from work (in about 8 hours).笑う門に福来たる。

Thanks Sham. I haven't honed it up yet but will in the next few days.
But I guess what I am wondering is why is this razor from Sweden? I thought Bismarks were German???Last edited by ZethLent; 03-12-2009 at 06:25 AM.

Thanked: 9I got an old Bismarck "registered" from ebay.
A 5/8", lightweight blade, hollow with a gentle smile, with "Bismarch registered" silver inlay on the scales. It was cheap with a slight chip and some pitting down towards the bevel. It was the first razor I honed, and it is my main shaver now!

Here is the razor I am talking about. Anyone ever seen a Swedish Bismark before?
