    Default Well I'm Bummed!!

Just got thru cleaning off a Taylor Eye Witness 1K I recently picked up and unfortunately there is a hairline crack running from edge towards spine about 1/4" long. The razor is 6/8 so theres not much hope for doing much with it.

Has anyone shaven with a hairline crack in a blade? Any ideas to keep from calling this sweet razor a total loss?

    TIA

I had a nice Winchester recently with about the same crack.I put a tiny amount of pressure on the sides of the crack, and a piece popped out about half the size of a dime.Total loss,so be careful.

It depends on where the crack is, at the toe, you could lop off a bit, make a shorter razor, at the heel, turn it into a shoulderless grind?

    In the middle, SOL.

yeah mines close enough to the middle that it would be way short. A smidge long to grind off to make narrower. If nothing else I may experiment with a short narrow blade of some sort.
