Default Good buy for six bucks?

Picked this up at the local flea market. Came with the box and where Mum's finger is pointing there's "Electric Cutlery Co" and below that is "Newark NJ". At six dollars I thought it was a good bargain, anyone know anything about it?

Itll clean up real good and shave just fine. A whole razor for the price of shipping on ebay.

I have one that is similar size and has similar scales. It is a different style blade though. I haven't honed it yet.... here is a pic if interested:

here it is next to a 6/8 razor I was working on at the time...

Wow! An Electric wedge. My Electric straight razors are VERY good shavers, and yours should be no exception, once you get it cleaned up and honed. Great buy, and I wish I had made it! The Electric trademark was not used after 1920, per Goin's.

I've read a few places that cleaning a razor might erase the company markings, is that true?

Depends on how much and how hard you sand as well as the depth of the makers marks, yours dont look so bad.

There's no pin in the end of the scales, so I assume the scales were molded in one piece. I've never seen a razor like that in person, but I have considered routing out a set of scales like that. Any of you woodworkers done it?
