    Default Fritz Bracht?

    Hey,
so there seems to be an antique razor maker- Fritz Bracht. Is his work good or not? I've seen Dovo and Tennis models...
Also btw, can anyone comment on Tennis's quality? It bears teh solingen stamp so...

Fritz Bracht ran Dovo in the late 1950s and early 1960s and many of their products form that time period bear his name. mainly on the back of the shank. the front could have any of the Dovo lines Tennis being one of them.

Lots of people will tell you that the Bracht razors are among the best that Dovo ever made. i agree.
    Be just and fear not.

Dovo's are good anyway, but i've heard very good things about the Tennis razors. Seen a few on the bay, but just couldn't bring myself to shave with a razor called Tennis. Machete, yes. Tennis, no!

Go get it! I think any vintage blade in good condition must be worth that!

I'm sure you could turn it around for more than you paid, & still give someone a bargain. Maybe they'll put it aside for you while you see what happens with the other blade?

From Goins: The Brach (no "t" on the end according to Goins encyclopaedia) company was established in Germany in 1887, had "NCRF" stamped on the back of the tang. Fritz Brach Company used the "Dovo" tm and they also own Hartkopf and Raucherkopf.

Dovo was established in 1906 by messrs Dorp and Voos. They retired just before WW2 anf FB (with or without the "t") took over.

I've had and sold three or four "Tennis" brand razors - all good shavers.

Incidentally, there was another Fritz Bracht Wwith a 2T") active during the war years - President of Upper Silesia and fully paid-up member of the Nazi Party.

    Regards,
    Neil

Fritz Bracht is the parent company of Dovo and owns the Dovo, Merkur, Tennis, Fontana, Bismark, Kron-Punkt, and Carl Rader brands/logos.
