Talking A few new adds to the rotation!

Hey everybody, I just added a few razors to my rotation... some of these are resto's I did that were just waiting to be honed up... I finished honing them and all of these babies are now going into the rotation! So, instead of posting the new additions to my rotation , I decided to give all of you junkies a full on razor porn fix... This is my current rotation, enjoy.

The picture is kind of at a weird angle, so I'll list them from the lower left corner moving up diagonally to the right, then the one in the bottom right corner

    1. (new addition) Griffon Carbo Magnetic - this one got honed up before doing any major polishing just to make sure she'd take a good edge. She did, now she gets to go in the rotation for a week or two, and after that we are going to do some shining up!

    2. Henckels 401 platinum... this baby is scary sharp (thanks to glen )

    3. (new addition) Boker Good as Gold.. wow this razor took an exceptional edge, what a steal for $20 on the bay!

    4. (restoration) Joseph Rodgers in canvas micarta, I call this one the english assassin because she is sleek and now very sharp

    5. (restoration) Reynolds in claro walnut, this is one heavy blade. I can't wait to give this one a full shave, it has a nice smile that looks very inviting.

    6. Wade and Butcher celebrated hollow ground. This one is on deck for a rescale, but until i decide how I want to go with it I'm putting her in the rotation.

    Hope you like them!

If these are additions to your rotation, just how long is one cycle??

Loving what ever is below the Boker, that's a nice looking razor. Elegant.

Ha!, good question, I think I may have been unclear....

There are only a few new additions in the rotation in this picture... the griffon, the rodgers, and the boker... the others were already in there but I included them just show the whole current rotation.

With this many, the true cycle time is about a week and a half. A couple of these are getting some more work, so they will only see two or three cycles before going back to the bench for work.

I find wisdom in what Glen says about trying to determine if the razors will take a bevel prior to wasting time on polishing and rescaling... so I figured that since I was setting bevels, I'd take the extra time and finish honing.... then I said to myself, why not give them a go. I'll let you know how they all treat me on a full shave... they all pass hht (I know it's a parlor trick, but who doesn't like to try it out on their razors) but more importantly, they all were doing very well on test shaves (but since i honed a few up, I didn't get to give each a full shave).
