only with my dovo best. my w&b is fine i dont have to restrop at all.
After stropping I always finish with five strokes each side across the palm of my hand (in line with the little finger) and I wipe the razor and hand dry and do this two or three times during the course of a shave, just for good measure.

I gave it a try this morning and it seemed to make the second pass much smoother. I normally do WTG & XTG with some touch ups. Today I hit the leather for about 15 strokes in between passes. I'll have to try it on a few different razors to see how much difference it makes. The strop's on the door knob right behind me so it doesnt' really add much to the process, maybe a minute or so.

I have a wirey tough beard too and sometimes have to strop in mid shave if using one razor. I have found over the years that a quarter hollow razor or a larger razor with less flex helps.

    Using tape?

Ok, I've played around with mid-shave stropping for over 2 weeks now and in my opinion it helps. Some razors benefit more than others but overall I say it improves my second pass and only adds about 30 sec. to the shave. The more hollow the grind the more noticeable the results. Not a dramatic improvement but enough that it's become part of the routine most days.

I just bought a Dovo Best Quality and sent it off to Lynn to be honed up for me. It seems like I have to strop before and a couple times during my shave to really get a close shave. I haven't been shaving with a straight too long and have some questions about the HHT... I have never been able to strop this razor to pass the HHT, but have stropped it well enough to get a BBS shave, only with a couple strops durning my shave.. Strop before, after left side, after right side and sometimes again for my neck/chin... not sure if it is just my stropping technique isn't up to par, which I wouldn't be surprised only been doing this for a month now!
