The Puma/Duck - can't win for losin'
I have managed to acquire 3 Puma dubl ducks. The black scaled piece at the bottom was the first. The blade was painfully close to the wedge and from what I heard all the Puma/ducks known in Puma scales were the same way.
I don't for a moment doubt the word of the person who told me that but it doesn't make sense to me that Bresnick would have put the razor out like that.
The next one was the one with the yellow scales marked Solingen. Probably a rescale. It is marked #350 on the tang. I wonder if the scales might possibly be original ? Anyone with a Puma/Duck have one with the same type of inlay on the scale ?
I just got the one in the center. It is marked 400 on the tang and I was really interested to see how close the point would be to the wedge and when I opened the package much to my surprise I found a third pin spacer at the end rather then a wedge.
I've messed with straight razors for a lot of years and I have never seen any with this treatment before. Still, the pins look original and even though I sort of know it isn't factory .... has anyone seen a razor come out of the factory like this Puma or otherwise ?Last edited by JimmyHAD; 04-12-2009 at 08:13 PM.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
