Thiers Issard w/o etching or gold wash
I'm in the market for a TI, but I don't care for gold wash or etching...crazy I know.
It seems all current production razors have some sort of design on the blade, and I'd hate to scrub it off. If you know of any, could you provide a link? I'm currently waiting for Martin to get more "san marque" razors in stock, but would like a full hollow ground razor as well.
I realize there is the silverwing, but I'm not sure on that one. I'm reading many mixed reviews, and for the price it should all be rave reviews.
Thanks
Dave

I really dig my Silverwing. The Super Gnome is etched with the name only and is goldwash free. It is a good razor IME and less costly then some of their stuff.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

+1 on the Super Gnome, however I was surprised at how much it now costs when I clicked on Jimmy's link. I'd go for the Special Coiffeur for a lot less and free shipping. Same razor, btw.

Here's a full hollow alternative. It has script but no animal figures. Thiers-Issard Straight Razors I have one in 6/8's and it's a good shaver. You could also look at the LeGrelot which are just about ful hollows and also one of my favorite French razors. The super gnome is a half hollow.

I'm glad you brought that up. I read many people say the razor is very hard, takes a very good edge but the shave was not smooth. Do you find the silverwing to be a smooth shaver? I always wondered if the others experience was from an edge that wasn't quite there.
Whoa. I'm surprised at how cheap that is.
Thanks for the recommendation on the hollow ground LeGrelot. I just purchased the 1/4 hollow earlier today when I found out the 'san marque' was backordered. I didn't want that one to pass me by.
Excellent input from everyone, keep it coming.
