someone once told me that a bigger razor meant a bigger blade.

and that effects sharpness how? wouldnt the hone work mean more than if its 5/8 7/8 11/16 etc

In the first line, are you referring to the size of the bevel? If so, that is affected by the size of the blade a bit, but the grind of the razor has a larger effect.

All blades can be made equally sharp, in my opinion. The bevel angel will be roughly the same for all blades, regardless of size or grind, unless they have massive or tiny spines.

Actually the wider the blade the easier it is to hone.
