Default My New Custom 7-Day Set from TI

I'm reposting this in its own thread because TI and Steve Dempster (blueprinciple) of www.thiers-issard.co.uk deserve a lot more exposure for the wonderful things they did for me.

First of all, I didn't have the cash to pay for this and neither TI nor Steve take credit cards, so I offered to purchase it on "lay away" over five months. TI reserved the blanks and, when their costs were covered, the razors went into production. When I finished making payments, the razors were ready. If I had defaulted, Steve would have been left with a "white elephant" (pun intended).

TI has been criticized recently but they are really working hard to turn things around. They just installed new sharpening machines and my razors were one of the first to get the benefit of them. Steve tells me that the edges are really good. Also, when I consider that TI is doing all it can just to keep up with their standard production, it just blows me away that they would go out of their way to do this for me, considering that it wasn't an easy sale to negotiate. So, I want to give TI a huge "Thank you" for taking the trouble to do this for me.

The razors are being shipped to me as I write. Steve has put up some pretty pictures on his web site here.

I'm also attaching two pictures that Steve made right out of the box.

The blades are 6/8 LeGrelot 3/4 to full hollow ground. The scales are legal ivory and the days of the week are engraved in Italian.

I don't think I'll be leaving it at home, I got the 7-day leather zippered case from Dovo to carry it with me at all times.

WOW!! There can't be many seven day sets manufactured these days! That's about the coolest thing i've seen here in ages. Pure, understated class, my man.

That's one of my big gripes with a lot of the higher-end razors these days, is that some of them, and some of the restos here frankly, just look tacky to me. These look clean and classy. They give the look of quality and luxury, without looking tacky, which is a nice trick.

I agree.I like razors with plain scales and ivory always looks classy. The days of the week engraved in Italian make them look classier still.Excuse me while I wipe up my drool.
