Thanked: 52Storing my wapis
Quick question about storing my new Wapis. I bought two with the stainless scales. I plan to use them once in a while but mostly they will be in a cedar box i will be making or a cigar box with some desicates inside. I bought them for long in the future if i ever have some sons. Should I just put a little mineral oil on the whole razor blade and scales....a light coat then keep them in the box with the desicates. Maybe take them out every month or two and clean them up and reaplly and they should be good? That is what I am thinking...based on how my dad and I store our guns, just a light wipe down with rem oil and then in the safe with a big desicate.

Thanked: 278That should be OK but remember that desicants, if exposed to air, will absorb water until they become "neutral". After that they will help stabilise moisture levels rather than keeping things bone dry.
To go the whole hog you need to bake the dessicant in the oven to dry it out, then keep it and the razor in an airtight container like a ziplock plastic bag (or preferably two, one inside the other.) Or maybe place that box into a bag(s).
That might be over the top, but it's an option.
