    Default Vintage Henry Sears Razor

    I got a new toy

The blade has a mirror finish with no rust, chips or cracks. It has a spike point and measures just under 6/8" in width. It's made of high carbon steel. Apparently, Henry Sears and Company started making razors in 1865 so I am assuming that this blade would've been one of the first they produced. It has another number on it - 498. Would that be a serial number, as in this is #498 ever made from 1865-1898?
