Thread: New razors

Since my purchase of a round point AOS razor and an antique spike point I have found that I absolutely love the weight of the AOS razor and it's perfect balance. My antique spike point I prefer to shave with and absolutely love the square blade but it is a much lighter blade and really light scales. I can probably re-scale it to improve the balance some but it just doesn't have that feel to the blade that the new one does.

My wife wants to buy me exactly what I want for our anniversary but I have no idea where to point her. The AOS TI is the only new razor that I have handled. I see that DOVO has a couple spike point razors on the market. How do these feel in the hand? What other manufacturers should I look at for spike point blades?

I am completely set on getting a spike point. Something about the look and the absolute knowledge of where the cutting edge starts has me fully addicted to this type.

Perhaps one of the TI 7/8 square points since the AOS is actually a TI they should be close....
