OUCH! Those blades weren't breadboarded - They must have been waterboarded. Because that is some serious torture there. The probably can be sharpened because it looks like the were made that way for some purpose. But I doubt if they could be sharpened easily.

These blades have been mightily abused, not made like this and they will never shave again. Too bad.

I think the angle on the hone would probably be all wrong after that much wear. That's a shame - why do people put crap like that up for sale?

I can forgive weird bevels and stuff, but that is so obviously wrong.

I agree with you, they cannot be as sharp as when new. The reason is that the hardness of the steel is less at the spine than on the edge.
On one razor tested at Mike Blues, a Herder razor, the edge was 59.8 HRC and the spine was 54 HRC. You might be able to get it sharp but it will not stay sharp for very long.

    Hope this helps,

My question is why would one even bother?
Do you think they used Barts method of honing?

Of course, the steel would still be very good for making special hobby knives and such, but that is kind of a 'throw away'. Too, the scales might be salvagable... but for $45 (?!) I wouldn't touch 'em.

That's in addition to $22 shipping. Maybe one could offer to take them off his hands if he split the shipping . and sold them for $0.01

It would take someone pretty soft hearted for that.

In his defense, He has some quality razors too. I got a nice NOS 6/8 Dorko from him for $70. That is certainly better than the going rate. I am having a hard time not making an offer for the green ERN.

Looks like they were sharpened (not honed) on a belt sander. It's sad.
