Default Where to get a Stag Horn Straight?

I am huge into hunting. I have been straight shaving for about two months. I was wondering if you guys know where I could get a stag horn straight razor or some one could make one for a decent price.

Issac RN has a Livi Takada for sale at a great price here. Alternatively if you go to the member services in the classifieds you will find members that do custom scales. Vintage razors with stag horn come up once in a blue moon but I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for one. You'll be hard pressed to find a straight better than that Livi.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I've got a stag-scaled livi takeda as well, and it's quite a nice razor. That one of Isaac's is a nice example, and a steal at that price.

The discussion on that razor seems to be in error though - it isn't Damascus but Japanese blue steel. Blue steel has a damascene patterning to it because of all the folding and forging, but it's a different material altogether, neither a pattern-welded damascus like Zowada makes, nor a wootz damascus like Pendry makes. FWIW the blue steel that Livi uses comes from Sensei Takeda who is a very famous Japanese artisan steelmaker in a country that takes such things very seriously. Blue steel is the stuff they made their famous swords from.

Livi does make a Takeda damascus razor that uses pattern-welded steel for the outer layers of the san mai sandwich, but that razor doesn't appear to be one; it looks much like mine, which has plain HC steel on the outer layers.

Still, a bargain for what it is.

That thread over there kinda turned the sale thread all around.

Just to state...I am still selling it for 690 if anyone is interested

He doesn't make the Wootz Damascus you've seen him use- Al Pendray did.

    Default IF...

IF I hadn't bought Martin's TI box with 2 NOS 1/4 grind Grelots last month...

AND a Joe Chandler from SRD the month before that...

and IF I hadn't talked to Gary Alfonso last night and sent him a check today for an NOS (unhoned) W&B full hollow...

and IF I hadn't commissioned a Frank Warner that should be due here soon...

and IF my wife and I did not have a joint checking account (she's been great since I started this adventure, but I think I'm reaching the limit of her indulgence, and my guilt ethic...)

THEN, by God, I would have this blade!

(...and that one, and this one, and.... oooh!... that one, and....)
