Thanked: 44Alcosa?
I got this razor off eBay. I am a newb, so I know nothing of old razors, anyone know anything interesting about this razor/company?
Sorry about the blurry pics:

I am trying to get it shave ready, but it needs a lot of work. I am tempted against my better judgement to just hone it, leaving the wavy shape of the blade as is, but I think I would regret it.

Hmm- I see "Alcoso Stahlwarenfabrik" 1933-?
That's all I can find on (maybe?) the manufacturer.
That said, I wouldn't start with that one as a newb. Gonna be a big headache. If you insist, I don't think you should try to hone it without getting that edge even first. I'd breadknife it until you've got a smooth transition that's fairly parallel with the back edge.
Save yourself a lot of trouble and pick up a shave ready blade from the classifieds. You'll be glad you did. And no more ebay until you know what to look for. Feel free to ask questions here before buying anything.

Thanked: 44I'm not so much of a newb that I don't already have a shave ready razor. I bought this for the purpose of trying to restore it. Been shaving with a straight for over 3 months now.
