Default Anyone Use a "CHAMPION" Brux/Solingen?

I found this one (been watching it) and the shape of the blade is different. Has anyone tried shaving with this shape? Seems it might be a little too easy to misjudge where the edge is because of how low it sits in relation to the tang. From the description it's a Champion made by A.Ingold & Co, Bruxelles-Solingen and blade is at 17mm.

Ok gents - hearing no responses - it's on the bay and I think I want it. No sniping please!

If get it and if it then makes my face appear freshly ground I'll put it up for sale here after the second shave. Dunno, it's got such a unique shape I'm thinking it was the worst idea of it's time or seriously smooth - gotta find out though - unless the bidding gets too high.

It seems it would work about the same as a larger blade.

Just eyeballing it, it would be like using a 7/8 blade. If you extend the line at the top of the tang, using the 17 mm width of the blade increasing by 1/3 gives you a 7/8 blade.

I see what you mean in looking at it again. Good observation! Well, let's see if I can get it and then do a test shave comparing it to a 7/8 or 8/8.

It's a handsome and rakish looking "double decker"! Good luck getting it. I got a mild chuckle from your "No Sniping Please" request. If your message works, we should let DOD know, so it can be printed on the front of all our military helmets.

    Smile

...and the lady is now mine!

Though someone tried to snipe me with an extra $20 the last few seconds - but I assumed that this was so nice looking that someone on the planet would try for her, so I went a bit high to start. In any event, she's mine now assuming she makes the trip through various national postal systems.

Congratulations on the snag and surviving the sniper attack! That razor looks like it might fit in your hand very ergonomically while shaving, due ot the unusual blade profile. Can't wait to hear the shave report! GREAT pics, too.
