Thanked: 103 Solingen razors
I present the 3 Solingen-made razors which I found in Edinburgh earlier this week. The first is in pretty good shape and marked Edelstahl (the maker?) Solingen on the tang; as you see the engraving is well-preserved. The second is the "Hamburg Ring" which should be discernible on the blade where there is residual staining which I believe is pitting (?) after removing some blackened rust-like material; on the tang is marked "Pass" (the maker?)or something similar in italic-like script. The final razor in the haul is a Puma 89 with poor loose-fitting scales which need replacing.
These are good candidates for restoration by a beginner such as myself I would have thought and with the wealth of information on SRP I should be able to make a reasonable stab at the task.

Edelstahl is "stainless steel" according to Google Translate. That razor looks the best to me. I like the heel grind it has.

LordJohn when you get around to replacing the Puma scales, I may have a set you can have. Just PM me about them and give me the length of the existing ones and I'll measure the set I have. If it's a match I'll send them to you. You'll need to pick up 2 pins and collars but the scales are in pretty good shape.
Conversely, should you decide you'd rather find an already refreshed Puma I'd be happy to buy that blade!
