Default Are all Shumate razors created equal?

Just wondering if the year or model made a difference.

I personally haven't shaved with the TX ones as of yet but other than that I would agree with Big Al's statement ....

I just bought a Shumate 30 and I was wondering if anyone could tell me about it. Where it was made (I am sure it was made in St. Louis, cuz I heard the Austin razors were very rare) How it compares to other shumates and if it's number "30" has any significance.

I just cleaned up and honed a Shumate Tonso, already have a Tungston and it shaves great. Hope the Tonso feels the same. It is a bit smaller though at 4/8 while my other one is a 6/8.

A pic would help tons, others with the same razor would be able to see yours and check it to theirs. As for where it was made, should be on the reverse side, but not always I believe. Both of mine have the same basic stamp.

Here is a pic of it.

I can't wait till it gets here. Please fill me in on any info or history about this razor. If it is not nice please do not hurt my feelings too bad.

I am new to this vintage thing and I want to learn about razors, and how to spot good deals.

    Thanks you guys.

That is a very nice looking one for sure. I don't have any of the numbered ones so at the moment I'm out of the running. I know a few others here have them and hope they spot this post soon.
