Thanked: 293Robert Klaas - Anybody else got one?
Gents (and Ladies, if applicable),
My first and favorite razor is this Robert Klaas 11/16 from Germany. It has "AM" etched on the blade and is full-extra full hollow. You can find a picture of it in the Wiki Database under "Klaas, Robert 11/16 'Etched AM'".
I'm not sure what's so great about this razor aside from the fact that it gives me a close, clean shave in all directions. I imagine it has something to do with the fact that it keeps an amazing edge (honed by Sham about 2 months ago) with minimal stropping (the usual 30-40 strokes on leather - I don't have linen).
I'm wondering if anybody else has good experiences with this razor/brand. I must have gotten some serious beginner's luck because when I picked this one up I shopped based on price and not quality. Lucky me.
Thanks for reading,
Ogie

Yes you have a good razor there. Robert Klaas, A.K.A. Kissing Cranes is a good maker. They go way back and are also well known for their pocket knives and other cutlery. I have a couple. One is with gssixgun being rescaled and I am looking forward to getting it back and shaving with it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I have a nice Klaas made in Prussia. One of my favorites!
I also started a razor club for Klaas razors here:http://straightrazorpalace.com/razor...s-kowboys.htmlLast edited by JMS; 05-29-2009 at 04:20 PM.
