Which razor to sell?
I need to sell some of the razors below. I would like some advice on which to sell and which to keep. I want to hear your comments on this.
The first is a Wolstenholm IXL frameback I purchased from a member here in the BST forum. It was my first frameback. I have since obtained a frameback I prefer, but not by much.
The second is a 4/8 "Twin Duck" I purchased on eBay. I have not been all that impressed with it and prefer the other razors here to it. I kind of want to give it another honing and try it again.
The third is a Dovo "Best Quality" I purchased on eBay. The seller had purchased a decade or more ago. It gained some water spots when it was in storage. I have shaved with it a dozen times. It is still officially part of my rotation, but I have razors I prefer to it.
The fourth is an 11/16 "Gold Bug" from S.R. Droescher. Most of the gold has worn off. It holds a lot of promise. There is still an area on the blade that seems a little rough. I will be taking it back to the coticule and Chinese 12K to take care of that. I think I am going to like this one.
Yes I Know I will need better pics. I will be borrowing a better camera.Last edited by Pyment; 06-01-2009 at 01:10 PM.

Here's another candidate. This is a 11/16 Iberia made in Barcelona, Spain. They are a maker that may have competed with Filarmonica. I bought it to have some Spanish steel. I found I enjoyed the shaves from this razor. Because I have imposed a limit on my number of razors, I need to make room for some new purchases.

I say sell the dubl duck -- you'll get a decent amount of cash for it due to the name and you say you're not impressed with it, so, no reason to keep. Its also not one of those sweet scaled ducks... its just kinda meh!

How can anyone else make that decision for you ? If you don't feel you want them anymore decide what you want for them and put them in the classifieds or on ebay. Take the proceeds and buy yourself a nice new or vintage razor that you do want. I probably have a dozen I should do that with if I wasn't too lazy to bother with it. Good luck with your sales if you do decide to go that route.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

They are all good razors. Keep them and shave with them once in a while.

Only you can make the decision.
My experience has been the same with firearms and razors. I never sold one I didn't regret parting with. I'd keep them, but I understand the limit you have set as I've done the same. I just have a difficult time forcing my self to comply!
At least wait until you have a chance to try the new razors, they may not be to your liking.Last edited by Hawkeye5; 06-02-2009 at 01:28 PM.

You need to remember the rules of the contest. The one who dies with the most razors, wins!

I'm afraid I don't understand
If I read it right you want advice on what to sell, but you've not provided any criteria which would indicate what you want to do
Why sell anything? Why keep anything? Answer these and I hope the answer will seem clearer for youFind me on SRP's official chat in ##srp on Freenode. Link is at top of SRP's homepage

I am selling because I need to make room for new razors, I also need to pay for them. These are pretty good shavers, but don't make the rotation because I really like the ones I am keeping (Dovo Renaissance, Bismarck, NOS Revisor, NOS ERN, 3 other great shaving ERN's, no name French frameback, Le Grelot Sun King, new Revisor shoulderless (awsome shaving beauty), Maxard, faux frameback Bengall, etc.).
I found out that Revisor makes 3 other razors with almost the same blade as my new shoulderless and I am thinking 4 razor set. Same blade different handles and blade decorations.
Rad in high gear.
