Default NOS razors I can't find any info whatsoever on

I found these two razors NOS pretty cheap, and I've searched everywhere for info and can't find it, except for info about the name on them.
First is a JA Schmidt and Sohne, Solingen, that according to a list of razormakers is from around 1922.

The second is a Robert Buntenbach Tambour, Solingen Hoehscheid. According the the same list this could be from the 20's or the 70's, but From the companies history I'm guessing the 20's.

Any info at all will be a great help. I will be buying one of them, I can't decide which though. Both are round point and look to be 5/8ths. If one is a better shaver, or if one si drastically older that'll swing me I guess.

    Karl,

If there are truly NOS and you can get them cheap, why not buy them both? Try them both and see which one you prefer. I'm sure you could put the loser in the classifieds and recoup your investment, and maybe a little more. With that income tax refund burning a hole in your pocket you might as well buy razors and feed your RAD, rather then spending it on something practical.

    Regards - Walt

There were many razor mfgs in Solingen back years ago and most of them were darn good. I agree with Walt, buy both and keep the best of the two and sell the other..... or keep both. I haven't found many NOS Solingens cheap and wouldn't pass them up if it was me and if I could afford it at the time.

I would say that would be a darn good deal. Just check them out closely for any cracks in the scales and the blades. If they are in good shape that is a steal IMO.
