The Lecoultre Rosetta Stone
I found this old flyer scrunched in the bottom of a Lecoultre coffin where is has probably lain for over a hundred years. The most recent date I could find was 1901. The odd thing is that the flyer announces that Mathey Bros. (M&M) were now the sole U.S. agency for these razors, but an advertisement in the 1894 "Jewelers Circular" states, at least seven years earlier, that Mathey Brothers were the the sole U.S. agents. I know that Charles Colomb was their agent at the time they stopped producing razors in 1919, but does anyone know when that transition took place? Also, does anyone know anything about the agent who stamped T&B on the razors before the Mathey Bros.? If any of you multilingual members could fill in the missing words in the English translation it would be very helpful. For clarity you can see larger version of the front and the back of the flyer here. Thanks.
