Red Imp spike point
Hi,
I know it is typically not good form to ask how much razors are worth, but here is my situation...
There is a lady at my barber shop who has a Red Imp spike point razor in mint condition, and she says she never uses it. I'd like to offer to buy it, and would like to give her a fair price... but I have no idea what to offer... I don't think she knows how much it is worth and I don't want to take advantage of the situation.
If anyone has some advice, maybe you could send me a PM.

Hi,
Holli had one for sale & was asking $60.

Typically, they seem to be going for less on the bay, but you can never be 100% on the seller, & they won't be shave ready.

This should help you establish a fair price anyway.

Imps in great shape have gone from $40-$60 in ebay. I wouldn't pay that much for one anymore, though.
BTW, is it a 132 or a 133? Both are spike points, but the 132 is a quarter hollow and the 133 is a full hollow.

Yes, i guessed it would be from you, & indeed as it was for sale here. That's why i made mention that the ebuy offerings probably wouldn't be.

I searched long and hard for mine. The biggest issue I ran in to and I learned this from some of the senior guys here, was that the Red Imps are notorious for having scale issues (i.e. shrinkage, warping, etc.) I obtained mine from another member here who is very dialed in to the details so I knew it would come near mint. I love it as a shaver.
The ones I looked at on ebay seemed to have ever so slight issues that would have to be addressed now or in the near future.
Sorry, this does nothing to help your price point search but thought I would share my experiences in looking at the Red Imp's. As I said, the one I have is a tremendous shaver, well worth the wait.

Thanks for the tips. I'm not sure if is full or 1/4 hollow, I'll check it next time I see her (I have one of each right now, so either grind works for me).

The Morris that John mentioned was a Solingen blade.
