DUBL DUCK WONDEREDGE Straight Razor - eBay (item 330334455493 end time Jun-10-09 18:00:00 PDT)
i belieive this might be the same one from the same seller discussed on SRP a few weeks ago.. but i cant be sure.. :
Ebay Wonderedge - Straight Razor Place Forums
this razor sold for $326 on ebay on may 25th, But was returned to seller bc the razor was narrower at the tip than at the base
the one i purchased has a wider blade at a bit under 6/8, so i dont know if he just cut off the end a bit and honed the edge straight..
did i make a good purchase?

I'd also assume it's the same blade. Too bad that's the way the guy decided to handle the razor's "problem," but to each his own.
Whether or not it was a good purchase, I don't know. Personally, I wouldn't have bit for that much, but it's not the type of blade that I'm into, so that's just my own preferences speaking.

One thing you have going for you is that guy sells a lot of razors. I don't know him but giving him the benefit of the doubt if he did the work or had it done it probably was done professionally where the temper wouldn't have been compromised. If you decide to keep it send it out to a honemiester.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Again, nobody can really tell you if your buy was worth it or not... I can only say that I would have looked at something else for my first razor. Pretty big chunk of change for an unknown quality (not questioning wonderedges in general, just the ebay buy). That guy does sell a few razors so you'll probably be able to get it honed.

Thanked: 0hmmm i didnt pay for this yet.... i tried to measure it on my computer screen matching up the zoom size and i found that its more like 3/4 an inch missing... if that is the case im inot even sending paypal.. to me that is misrepresending the product..
i purchased a wapi on this forum about an hour ago also.. that is paid for already.. i know already i wont be just having just one razor, even before i had my first shave..
if it only had a 1/4 inch missing it wouldnt have been bad at all.. but its almost 3x that..

Let the seller know your concerns. Ask him for a measurement from heel to point. If you're not going to consummate the deal than let him know so he can offer it to the next guy.

Not the same razor. Look at the design work on the tang, it's pristine on the shortened one but shows a lot of wear on the other one.
