    Default Hitchcοck Hill Strait Razor

    My mother bought my father a a strait razor labeled hitch**** hill co.
    from chicago IL.
    at a local auntiques shop in town any know the razors orgin or company
    i need to know the hisotry of this razor
    this very well could of been used by alfred hitch****!!!

    So if anyone knows or can find out the history of this razor that would be great.

    That's some pretty leaf work on the scales. Looks like celluloid, could be bone?

    Default I can't tell if its bone or ivory or plastic

    I can't tell what it is what gives it away so i know what its made of?

    I read someone else say that you take a clean cloth, and vigorously rub a scale carefully. Once the material is warmed up due to friction, it should be giving off little bits of itself into the air, i.e. odor. Bone and ivory smell unmistakably like animal hair, while plastic is pretty clearly indicated as well.
    Just performed this trick on a newly acquired razor: 70% sure it's horn.
