Advice on a Tally Ho
So I'm now getting into the range where I don't NEED razors, but am starting to hand pick them... (Still RAD, but instead of 4 $10 razors, one $40... LOL)
I found a Tally Ho that is just barely in my price range. however, if I buy it I'm done for the month and that means no Karasu hone, no Shaptons, etc. But I'm okay with that, because a Karasu would mean no razors, no Shaptons, etc etc.
Anyway, I digress. Anyone here think it's worth it? How are they as shavers? I'm about to get a Jo Rodgers (I think it was a Rogers...) back from Utopian and I'll see how I like wedges and Sheffield steel. I will leave my final decision till after that because there's no point buying it if I don't like the shaves. Anyone with definite Nays or Yeas? Just some info, its a CT Bingham, the maker after Fenney, but before Wostenholm bought the TM, so its definitely between 1852 and 1862- Fenney died in 1852 and Wosty bought them out in 1862 so. Its about an 8/8, maybe a tad more at the widest point. And the scales aren't in great condition but that doesn't bug me. Thoughts on the blade?Last edited by khaos; 07-09-2009 at 04:23 PM.
