Default For the REALLY big spender!

While browsing through a magazine the other day I came across an intriguing product, styptic matches.
    Hommage Styptic Matchsticks - Acquire
Apparently they are sold in packs of 5 for $50. Well this sparked my curiosity and so I went out to see what else this company (Hommage) made. Well i stumbled across a multitude of designer shaving sets made with super high end materials. My personal favorite of which is a $30 000 straight razor with platinum scales.
Hommage Damascene Straight Razor - Acquire
I don't know if anyone has come across this before, but I thought I would post it and see what peoples opinions are on this.

Wow, that's a bit pricey? I guess if someone has the disposable income to afford it more power to them. Although I will have to say, the Livi's, William's, Earl, Harner, Chandler, and Zowada each make beautiful pieces that can be had for much less than this and, in my opinion, look quite a bit nicer.

Interesting find though, no doubt about it.

I agree. I'd much rather have a custom from one of those guys. I mean it's nice I'm sure to say my razor is made of platinum, but to me it's more of a meaningless status symbol.

I'm sure you could get platinum scales made by a jewler for less than a few thouand, and that would leave you twenty something thousand to have a very well made custom from one of the guys here. I think you'd even have enough left over for a decent used car.

Platinum is way too heavy to use for scales. There would have to be a liner with a tissue paper thin platinum layer to make it light enough to use.

In any case the bang for the buck ratio is rather microscopic there.

I see no reason why anyone would waste their money on either of these items; but, what ever floats your boat.

The guy that cuts my hair gave me a pack of those styptic matches. They work well enough, but I've been lucky, i guess, & the alum's always taken care of any nick.

Maybe you need to have a spare $30000 lying around that you wuld like to waste in order for the purchase link to show up.

I'm not sure this thing will ever sell. Honestly, if I were to spend that much money on a razor, I would want it to be a lot more exciting looking than this. And I would probably want a personal barber to come with it.
