Thrift Shop
Ever picked up a good quality straight razor, or other hardware in a thrift shop? Any experience with Salvation Army Thrift Shops? DC's shops are almost entirely Salvation Army, they have one in a neighborhood called West End, its a real swanky high end neighborhood and I am curious what they are doing in such a high end area.

I have scoured thrift shops around here and have come up with nothing as far as razors are concerned.
It is easier to fool people than to convince them they have been fooled. Twain

I went by the local Saly a couple of years ago looking for shaving stuff. In this area they don't carry it. They say that it is unsanitary and potentially could be a dangerous weapon.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

I volunteered in one of the local shops awhile back. I can say from that experience, that any items like this would have been tossed, or had it been rare and expensive looking, it may have gone in to the public auction case. Perhaps, things like shaving mugs could still be found. Shouldn't be a sanitation issue there, and unless you were to club someone over the head with it, no weapon issue, either.
