Thanked: 1found a nice little pipe (turtle scales?)
Hi all,
Picked this little guy up today. I had the discipline to wait until payday and thankfully it was still there. I don't have much experience with turtle (faux or real) but it seems like they're the real deal. Either way I'm happy. I like the taper and it's in great shape...Just a couple spots on the blade and some funk near the pivot.

Thanked: 0Looks like real tortoise to this layman, faux tends to have more figuring and lacks the slightly ridged texture evident in the second picture of the second post.

I agree with 0livia. It is dyed horn - faux turtle, but natural material
still beautiful
