Default does anybody know this razor brand?

Can anybody tell me the brand of this razor? I have seen razors with an anchor in the tang before, but I don't remember where I have seen it. Looking at the tail I would date this razor between 1810 and 1835. What do you guys think??

I'd say so about the age as well, but I have no idea who made it.
Beautiful piece of old Sheffield. Please be kind to her.

Does being kind to this lady include taking off the scales and grinding down the blade? ;-)

I read that the anchor was the emblem of Birmingham manufacturers (like the crown for Sheffield), but its use is not so rare among Sheffield blades (I have some W&Bs and a ?G. Johnson with an anchor on the tang). Other blades featuring the anchor can be found in SRP (example).

    Exactly not, LOL
Being kind rather means leaving on the patina, admiring and bowing to her daily and telling her that you love her just the way she is. You know, just the actual boring old ladies stuff.
A drop of lavender for b-days, etc.

I can't tell precisely, but the anchor is very similar.

What confuses me is that Gorham exists since 1865 but the tail of the razor doesn't look like anything newer than 1830. Or do newer razors with these tails exist? I wonder.

It could also be that the anchor is some kind of trademark used by various manufacturers. I heard that Wade&Butcher also used anchors at one point.

You are right, W & B also used anchor, but this one.

I think Wester Bros. also used an anchor as logo as well, but that razor certainly isn't a Wester Bros. razor. That is a huge tang!
